LATEST NEWS EDITION KINGSTON BLOODSTOCK NEWS LETTER DECEMBER 2011Here we are nearly at the end of December and no sign of a decision on the corporate bookmakers betting tax legislation! The recently announced board of Racing NSW has caused quite a bit of conflict over its makeup! For what it is worth I think it is a well balanced board with lots of Racing/ Breeding experience as well as high profile business and financial influence. I also believe personalities aside that John Messara is the best person to chair this board, his appointment as chairman has been controversial based on his supposed conflict of interest as a large breeder. True he is one of the countries largest breeders, but he is also one of the largest racehorse owners as well with a large number of horses based in country NSW .Arguably no one has lifted the profile of both racing and breeding in the International arena as much through his involvement with Aushorse He will lead a board that seem keen to implement the Racing NSW master plan and address problem areas such as prIze money and the Sky/ TVN RIGHTS DEBACLE! Strong leadership is required especially if the court decision is not favourable and Messara will make the tough decisions that may be necessary for all participants in NSW. KINGSTON BLOODSTOCK STOCK REPORT DECEMBER 2011STALLION SHARESnitzelServed 149 mares this season and continues to produce his fair share of good winners and is currently 5th on the on the third season sires list and second on the 2yold sires list. Indications are he will improve on this with a number of good runners yet to be produced. We can expect a good return from this investment in the forthcoming 2011/2012 season. Star WitnessServed 148 mares in his first season many of which were racing Royalty including Gr1 winner Miss Andretti, his future looks assured! BROODMARESKeelaWill be sent to the Easter sales in April 2012, she has served us well as a foundation mare but is a 12 yr old and her progeny have not stepped up! She has been a wonderful producer and the foals on type seem to get better but for KBS the best decision is to sell her. Currently she is in foal to Snitzel. Balmoral Belle(NZ)A nice mare with blacktype around her in foal to Star Witness on a late cover, will have to look at the situation regarding her future prior to the next season YEARLINGDylan Thomas/ Keela ColtA good strong type who will be offered for sale at the Inglis Classic Sale in January 2012. WEANLINGSNorthern Meteor/ Keela FillyYou will not see a better type though a little short on pedigree will sell well in 2013 based on looks Charge Forward/ Balmoral Bell (NZ) FillyA cracker filly with some black type, recent performance’s in the pedigree will be well received at whatever sale she goes to in 2013. RACEHORSESMillenium HawkA country provincial horse at best , has not lived up to earlier promise and is on the market for sale, currently in the racing stable of John Shelton at Grafton. Millenum RulerMore than paid his way this preparation and is currently spelling at Riverslea Farm. He will return to pretraining at the end of January 2012. Could be a handy horse next time in !!! Fastnet Rock/ Take Care FllyA 2yr old now back in work again and shows promise of being up to Metropolitan Class, still not sure if will be a two yr old or we will have to wait for the 3 yr old season.
